Wetland Delineations
Wetlands play an important role in flood mitigation, water quality and environmental well – being. Simultaneously, they are heavily regulated by either/or the NYS – DEC and the US Army Corps of Engineers. To aid in compliance with both permitting and determinations, the OCSWCD provides fee-based services to review sites and delineate wetlands:
$190.00 for the first 4 hours
+ $30.00 each subsequent hour
The basis for said definition is performed using current U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 1987 Wetlands Delineation Manual and its subsequent addendums. Typical wetland data collected include those that define a wetland (hydric vegetation, soils and hydrology), plus site data relevant to regulatory permits. Once wetland boundaries have been flagged by the district, the landowner must consult a licensed surveyor to determine relative distance requirements in relation to your property boundary lines. Do not rely upon the OCSWCD service for any determinations beyond the delineation of the wetlands. The OCSWCD is not responsible for any use of its services other than the delineation of the wetlands.
Please contact the Otsego County Soil and Water Conservation District at (607)–547–8131 ext. 4 or via email at galanopoulosc@otsegosoilandwater.com to schedule a delineation.
