2019 Community Conservation Program Mini Grant Opportunity
This year Otsego County Soil and Water Conservation District (OCSWCD) will provide funding for conservation projects for educational purposes or resource protection through schools, educational institutions, associations, environmental organizations, and municipalities. The projects can be far ranging in ideas, but must be ones that have tangible outcomes (i.e. miles of hiking trails, native trees and shrubs installed, etc.).
Project proposals should be related to conservation and/or conservation education. Some examples could include; educational trail construction; educational signage/brochure, native wildflower plantings, wildflower gardens, installation of a rain garden, agriculture, construction/installation of habitat for wildlife or possible the purchase of an educational model. A successful project should be fully completed (i.e. constructed, implemented and functioning) prior to paperwork submitted for reimbursement.
If you have a project idea, opportunity or interest please call our office at 607-547-8337 ext. 4 or contact Ashley Young at email@example.com or Jordan Clements at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have funds in hand for several projects this year. Award requests may not exceed $1,000. All requests need to be submitted to Otsego County SWCD no later than April 30, 2019 by 4:30 pm. We look forward to working with organizations to put conservation projects into motion.
