Black Cherry
Dense dark green foliage. Single white flowers in May, followed by black cherries in August. Fall color is yellow. This tree is extremely valuable as a timber tree. Fruits attract birds and other wildlife.

Lilac
Dense, vigorous growth to 15'. Masses of fragrant, lavender flowers in late spring. Makes and excellent flowering screen as well as gives off a pleasant aroma.

Red Oak
A large tree that often reaches heights of 70' to 80'. The matured trunks bark is furrowed, often laced with broad shinny strips. Acorns are excellent for wildlife. Red Oak is a valued lumber.

Sugar Maple
A large tree with a mature dark brown bark, with vertical groves and ridges. Often grows 40' to 80' tall and up to 3' in diameter. Popular wood used for a variety of wood products. This tree is most popular for the production of maple sugar in early spring.

Native Birch **NEW
Native Birch has white bark that will appear after 3 to 4 years. Grows well in moist soils and full to partial sun. It has conspicousou yellow flowers that bloom in mid-spring. This tree is great for landscaping and nothern climates Mature height is 50 feet with up to a 30 foot spread. Comes in a bundle of 25.
Black Walnut
Develops best on deep well-drained soils. Reaches 100 feet in height and 2-3 feet in diameter. The nuts are sweet and edible, and are a favorite food for red and gray squirrels. Leaves turn bright yellow in fall. Most black walnut timber goes into furniture of the highest quality and is also prized for gunstocks and interior finishes. For best nut production, space 30 feet apart to develop full, well-branched top.

Red Maple
Develops best on moderately well-drained, moist sites at low to intermeidate elevations. White-tailed deer especially use the current season's growth as winter food source. Height smail to medium size (16-54 feet).
Sargent Crab Apple
Typically grows to 8 ft, prefers full sun & moist, well-drained, slightly acidic loams, but is adaptable to varying soil conditions.
Blooms with pink buds, spring bloom, white flowers & often only alternate years. Pea-sized fruits are swet-flavored like rose hips, not usually used in cooking.
Japanese Larch
Typically grows best in acidic soils, moderately well drained sandy or clay-loam. Height grows to about 130 ft., cones 3/4 to 1" long, ovoid & erect on shoots. Bark is smooth & red brown on young trees, scaly, fissued, gray when older. needles are blue green, turn yellow in autumn.
